About

From an early age, my affinity for science was strong. Even as a young girl, my aspiration was to become a pediatric oncologist, driven by a profound desire to help others. Did I even know what pediatric oncology was? Probably not.  My scientific journey commenced at the University of Saint Francis in Illinois, where I pursued a degree in biology and chemistry, ultimately graduating in 2021. Throughout my time there, I was fortunate to learn from exceptional mentors who instilled in me the belief that a scientist's pursuit of knowledge is never-ending. As my undergraduate years neared their end, I found myself applying to graduate schools, recognizing the abundant growth opportunities within Chicago's thriving scientific community. It was at Rush University Medical Center that I truly experienced the transformative potential of science. Initially seeking research experience before medical school, I encountered a realization that resonated deeply—remarkable advancements were happening within these labs, yet the local community remained unaware of the cutting-edge breakthroughs happening just across the road. Motivated by this disconnect, I immersed myself in science communication during my internship at Rush Graduate College. The success of my innovative projects led to a full-time position at the university, where I now have the honor of sharing Rush's accomplishments and scientific understanding within our communities. This opportunity seamlessly merges my passion for perpetual learning with the joy of educating others—a unequivocal win-win situation.
